# Maritime Documentation

Maritime gives your agents every computer they need. One account and one API key start sandboxes,
Linux and Windows desktops and Android phones on demand, billed per second on one invoice. Drive all
of it from the dashboard, the [CLI](https://maritime.sh/docs/cli), the
[API](https://maritime.sh/docs/api), the [SDK](https://maritime.sh/docs/sdk) or MCP. Start with the
[Quickstart](https://maritime.sh/docs/quickstart).

## The platform

One account and one key, three sections of machines, and the same services around every machine:

- **Agent boxes**: [Agent boxes](https://maritime.sh/docs/persistent-sandboxes),
  long-lived Linux machines that keep their files and sleep when idle.
- **Sandboxes**: [Sandboxes](https://maritime.sh/docs/ephemeral-sandboxes), fresh
  machines for one task, and [Swarms](https://maritime.sh/docs/swarms), many of them on one job.
- **Computers on demand**: a real screen your agent sees and clicks, which a person can take over:
  [Linux desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/computers),
  [Windows desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/windows-desktops) (Windows Server 2022) and
  [Android phone](https://maritime.sh/docs/phones).
- **Around every machine**: [agents and templates](https://maritime.sh/docs/how-it-works),
  [add-ons](https://maritime.sh/docs/add-ons), [end users](https://maritime.sh/docs/sdk/end-users),
  [Activity](https://maritime.sh/docs/api#activity) and [one bill](https://maritime.sh/docs/billing).

## Which one do I need?

| You need | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Run code a model wrote and throw the machine away | [Sandbox](https://maritime.sh/docs/ephemeral-sandboxes) |
| A workspace per user that keeps its files and tools | [Agent box](https://maritime.sh/docs/persistent-sandboxes) |
| The same job on many machines at once (evals, rollouts, batches) | [Swarm](https://maritime.sh/docs/swarms) |
| A browser or a Linux app with a screen, driven by your model | [Linux desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/computers) |
| Software that only runs on Windows | [Windows desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/windows-desktops) |
| A mobile app with no API | [Android phone](https://maritime.sh/docs/phones) |
| A long-running agent with memory, channels and schedules | [Agent (in its own Agent box)](https://maritime.sh/docs/how-it-works) |

## The machines

List rates, billed per second (see [Billing & plans](https://maritime.sh/docs/billing)):

- [Sandboxes](https://maritime.sh/docs/ephemeral-sandboxes): a clean Linux machine, ended with its disk when it goes idle or reaches its time limit. From $0.018 an hour.
- [Agent boxes](https://maritime.sh/docs/persistent-sandboxes): a Linux machine that keeps its files, sleeps when idle and wakes in about a second. $1 a month per 2 GB, awake or asleep.
- [Swarms](https://maritime.sh/docs/swarms): one command on many sandboxes at once, with every result collected. From $0.018 an hour per sandbox.
- [Linux desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/computers): a desktop with a screen, mouse, keyboard and browser that your model drives over MCP or REST. $0.12 an hour awake.
- [Windows desktop](https://maritime.sh/docs/windows-desktops): the same computer running Windows, for software that only runs there. $0.18 an hour awake.
- [Android phones](https://maritime.sh/docs/phones): an Android phone your agent taps and swipes, with adb for your own tooling. $0.15 an hour awake.

```
Set up Maritime (https://maritime.sh) for me.
1. Read the onboarding guide: https://maritime.sh/agent-guide.txt
2. Before you build anything, do its getting-started steps: run `maritime onboard --json` and send me each link it prints, so I can sign in and start my free trial. If I gave you a Maritime API key above, set it as MARITIME_API_KEY first; onboarding then skips the sign-in.
3. Then pick the right Maritime product for my task, tell me what it costs, and build it.
