Maritime gives every AI agent its own computer: agent boxes that stay online, sandboxes for code, Linux and Windows desktops it clicks, and Android phones.

What you get

What Maritime has that E2B does not.

E2B sells isolated Firecracker micro-VM sandboxes for AI agents to run code and tools, on Linux only. Maritime gives every agent its own computer: sandboxes, persistent agent boxes, Linux and Windows desktops, and Android phones, on one API.

  • Windows desktops

Maritime: $0.18 an hour while awake, licence included, with screenshot, click, type, files and human takeover. Requires Growth, Scale or Dedicated once the plan has been paid; not Starter or the free trial.

E2B: Linux only. E2B Desktop is an open-source Linux Xfce desktop.

  • Android phones

Maritime: $0.15 an hour while awake. AOSP Android 15 with tap, swipe, ui_tree, install_app and an adb tunnel.

    E2B: No Android machine.

  • Persistent agent boxes

Maritime: $1 a month per 2 GB, awake or asleep. Keeps /data until you delete it, sleeps when idle and wakes in about a second on the next command, message, webhook or schedule.

E2B: Sessions last up to 1 hour on Hobby and 24 hours on Pro. Pause keeps filesystem and memory; the paused price is not stated.

  • Per-end-user spend caps

Maritime: End users are records keyed by your own id, with one agent each, per-user spend caps, short-lived eu_ tokens for their browser, and a usage report for rebilling.

E2B: A per-sandbox access token. No per-end-user records or caps stated.

  • Private network

Maritime: Reach a system inside a customer's office through a small connector on their side, no VPN, on every plan including the free trial.

E2B: VPC and BYOC on Enterprise only.

Honest list

Where E2B is better.

Pick E2B if one of these matters more to you than the list above.

  • A larger free credit: $100 one time, with no card. Maritime's trial needs a card and caps usage at $20 for 7 days.
  • More concurrency for free: 20 sandboxes at once on Hobby. Maritime Starter allows 5 machines awake at once (Growth 25, Scale 60).
  • Memory snapshots on pause. A paused sandbox keeps its memory and processes.
A real month

What a month costs.

Arithmetic from the rates above. A month is 730 hours. Maritime numbers include the $20 Starter plan, whose fee comes back as usage credit; Starter allows 5 machines awake at once.

Short-lived code execution: 1,000 sandbox-hours a month at 2 vCPU and 4 GB, no more than 5 at once

  • Maritime sandboxes1,000 h x $0.022, $2 past the $20 Starter credit$22
  • E2B1,000 h x $0.1656, plus $150 a month for Pro (Hobby sessions end after 1 hour)$165.60

Ten agents, each 1 vCPU and 2 GB, awake 60 hours a month, asleep the rest

  • Maritime agent boxes$1.40 each with 10 GB of disk, $14 in all, inside the $20 Starter credit$20
  • E2B60 h x $0.0828 per agent, plus paused storage (price not stated)$49.68
